Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Cherry offered the following amendments for HB 4229, as substitute (H-2): 1. Amend page 10, following line 7, by inserting: “Healthy soils pilot project………………………… $ 1,500,000" and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. 2. Amend page 29, following line 13, by inserting: “Sec. 903. From the funds appropriated in part 1 for healthy soils pilot project, $1,500,000.00 shall be used to establish a pilot program of assessment, education, and technical assistance to support the adoption of best practices for the improvement of soil health in this state. In developing this program, the department shall work with Michigan state university’s soil health research laboratory.”. Representative Cherry explained the amendments.
