Senator Daley testified in support of SB 174, SB 179, SB 180, SB 181, SB 182, SB 183 and SB 361. Allison Brink and Bill Patmos, representing Michigan Allied Poultry Industries Incorporated, testified in support of SB 174. Questions and discussion followed. Nathan Kark and Dr. James Averill, representing the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, testified with a neutral position on SB 174, SB 179, SB 180, SB 181, SB 182, SB 183 and SB 361. Questions and discussion followed. Representative LaFave offered the following amendments to SB 174: 1. Amend page 54, line 2, after "accreditation" by striking out "program or" and inserting "program,". 2. Amend page 54, line 4, after "requirements" by inserting a comma and "or a privately owned cervid operation that is located in an accredited bovine tuberculosis free zone as assigned by the United States Department of Agriculture". Representative LaFave spoke to the proposed amendments.
