- Representative Eisen moved to refer House Bill No. 5402 to the committee on Ways and Means, with recommendation as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 9-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Howell, Wakeman, Calley, Reilly, Rendon, Eisen, Sowerby, Cambensy, Pohutsky. Nays: None. Pass: None. Jim Stewart and Nicki Polan, representing Michigan Boating Industries Association, testified in opposition to HB 5401 (H-1). Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 5463 before the committee: HB 5463 (Rep. Lilly) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending sections 80110 and 80112 (MCL 324.80110 and 324.80112), as amended by 2006 PA 237, and by adding section 80112a. Representative Lilly testified in support of HB 5463. Craig Brunet and Lt. Tom Wanless, representing the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, testified in support of HB 5463. Jim Stewart, representing the Michigan Boating Industries Association, testified in opposition to HB 5463.
