- Representative Sheppard moved to excuse Representatives Marino and Paquette from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 757 before the committee: SB 757 (Sen. Ruth Johnson) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 765, 765a, and 765b (MCL 168.765, 168.765a, and 168.765b), sections 765 and 765a as amended by 2020 PA 95, section 765b as added by 2018 PA 127, and by adding sections 14b and 24k. Senator Ruth Johnson testified in support of SB 757. Adam Reames, representing the Michigan Department of State, testified in support of SB 757. Kyle Whitney, the City of Marquette Clerk, testified with no position on SB 757. Chris Swope & Mary Clark, representing the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks & Council of Elections Officials, testified in support of SB 757. The following people submitted a card in support of , but did not wish to speak: Hallie Fox, representing the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. Tom Frazier, representing the Michigan Townships Association. Bill Wortz, representing National Vote From Home and Secure Democracy. At 10:27 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease.
