- Representative Cherry moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 25, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HR 40 before the committee: HR 40 (Rep. Posthumus) A resolution to urge the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to allow school districts the flexibility to exclude immediate family members of participants in school athletic events from venue capacity limits. Representative Postumas, testified in support of HR 40. Questions and discussion followed. Kristen Braun, representing herself as a concerned parent, testified in support of HR 40. Representative Cherry explained his proposed amendment. Representative Cherry offered the following amendment to HR 40: 1. Amend page 1, line 10, after "Whereas," by striking out the balance of the line through "families." on line 11. 2. Amend page 2, line 7, after "Whereas," by striking out the balance of the line through "limitations." on line 8. 3. Amend page 2, line 14, after "order" by striking out "fails to" and inserting "does not". 4. Amend page 2, line 23, after "limits" by inserting "if appropriate social distancing measures can be implemented".
