- Representative Cavitt moved to adopt the amendments to HB 4290. The motion did not prevail 12-17-0: UNFAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Lightner, Bollin, Green, Slagh, Beson, Borton, Fink, Cavitt, DeBoer, Kuhn, Schuette, Steele. Nays: Reps. Witwer, O'Neal, Brixie, Hood, Brabec, Morse, Puri, Steckloff, Weiss, Martus, McKinney, Mentzer, Morgan, Price, Skaggs, Snyder, Wilson. Pass: None. Representative Cavitt offered the following amendments to HB 4290: 1. Amend page 13, line 23, after "100" by inserting "Chronic wasting disease testing 500,000" and adjusting the subtotals, totals, and section 201 accordingly. 2. Amend page 25, following line 17, by inserting: "WILDLIFE DIVISION Sec. 506. The United States Department of Agriculture, Wildlife Services, is encouraged to harvest all deer during targeted removal required under the enhanced wildlife biosecurity program.". 3. Amend page 32, following line 4, by inserting: " Sec. 1211. From the funds appropriated in part 1 for chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing, before the 2024 deer hunting season, the department shall make at least 1 CWD check station or drop station available during any deer season in any county that is included in a core CWD area, a CWD management zone, or a core CWD surveillance area.".
