- Representative Liberati moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 18, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 906, SB 907 and SB 908 before the committee: SB 906 (Sen. Moss) A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled "Stille- DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act," by amending section 28 (MCL 125.1528), as amended by 2020 PA 155, and by adding section 4i. SB 907 (Sen. Moss) A bill to amend 1941 PA 207, entitled "Fire prevention code," by amending section 22 (MCL 29.22), as amended by 2020 PA 154. SB 908 (Sen. McMorrow) A bill to amend 1973 PA 116, entitled "An act to provide for the protection of children through the licensing and regulation of child care organizations; to provide for the establishment of standards of care for child care organizations; to prescribe powers and duties of certain departments of this state and adoption facilitators; to provide penalties; and to repeal acts and parts of acts," (MCL 722.111 to 722.128) by adding section 3m. Senator Moss; along with Rob Mass, representing the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential; testified in support of SB 906, SB 907 and SB 908. The following people submitted a card in support of SB 906, SB 907 and SB 908, but did not wish to speak: Danielle Sirianni, representing the Michigan County Social Services Association. Brian O'Connell, representing Lockout USA. The Chair laid HB 5786 before the committee: HB 5786 (Rep. Churches) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," by amending sections 1108 and 1110 (MCL 339.1108 and 339.1110), section 1108 as amended by 2021 PA 101 and section 1110 as amended by 2020 PA 27. Representative Churches testified in support of HB 5786.
