Nays: Reps. Tyrone Carter, Hope, Breen and Scott. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4667 and HB 4668 before the committee: HB 4667 (Rep. Lightner) A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled "The Michigan penal code," (MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 411y. HB 4668 (Rep. Lightner) A bill to require large developers to implement safety and security protocols to manage critical risks of foundation models; to prescribe the duties of large developers; to provide protection for certain employees; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; and to prescribe civil sanctions and provide remedies. Chair Lightner testified in support of HB 4667. Daniel Kroth, representing the Center for AI Risk Management, testified in support of HB 4668. Questions and discussions followed.
