GRAHAM FILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, January 29, 2019 Room 519, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chairman Filler. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Lee Chatfield which appointed members of the House Judiciary Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Filler, LaFave, Farrington, Howell, Johnson, Rendon, Berman, Wozniak, LaGrand, Guerra, Bolden. Absent/Excused: Reps. Elder, Yancey. Representative LaFave moved to adopt Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in room 519 of the House Office Building as the day, time, and location for regularly scheduled meetings of the House Judiciary Committee. The motion prevailed 7-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Filler, LaFave, Farrington, Howell, Johnson, Rendon, Bolden. Nays: None. Pass: None. Chairman Filler stated the committee will follow Chapter IV, as stated in the House Standing Rules. Chairman Filler welcomed committee members and audience members to the committee meeting. Chairman Filler laid before the committee a presentation by Supreme Court Chief Justice Bridget McCormack, and Tom Clement, representing the Supreme Court Administrative Office. Questions and discussion followed. Chairman Filler laid before the committee a presentation by Sergeant Matt Williams and Trooper Chris Gerard, both representing The Michigan State Police. Questions and discussion followed. Representative LaGrand moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection Reps. Elder and Yancey were excused from the meeting.
