GRAHAM FILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 12, 2019 09:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building, Lansing, MI The House Standing Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chairman Filler. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Filler, LaFave, Farrington, Howell, S. Johnson, Rendon, Wozniak, LaGrand, Yancey. Absent/Excused: Reps. Berman, Guerra, Elder, Bolden. Representative LaFave moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 5, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative LaGrand moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection Reps. Berman, Guerra, Elder and Bolden were excused from the meeting. Chairman Filler laid before the committee a presentation by the Michigan Judges Association. Judge Christopher Yates, representing the Michigan Judges Association, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Chairman Filler laid before the committee a presentation by the Michigan State Appellate Defender Office. Jonathan Sacks, representing the Michigan State Appellate Defender Office, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Lee Chatfield which appointed members of the House Transportation Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Cole, Sheppard, Alexander, Bellino, Howell, Afendoulis, Sneller, Yancey, Haadsma, Shannon. Absent/Excused: Rep. Clemente. Representative Eisen moved to adopt Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., in room 327 of the House Office Building, as the day, time, and location for the regularly scheduled meetings of the House Transportation Committee.
