JOSEPH N BELLINO CHAIR MINUTES OF THE JOINT HOUSE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND SENATE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND TECHNOLOGY Wednesday, August 7, 2019 8:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Energy was called to order by the Chair Bellino. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Bellino, Alexander, Filler, Mueller, Schroeder, Lasinski, Sneller, Tyrone Carter, Haadsma, Kuppa, Manoogian, Shannon. Absent/Excused: Reps. Wendzel, Frederick, Lower, Markkanen, O'Malley. The Senate Committee on Energy and Technology was called to order by Chairman Lauwers. Representative Alexander moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 19, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Chairman Lauwers laid before the committee a presentation by Chairman Talberg of the Michigan Public Service Commission regarding the 2019 Statewide Energy Assessment. Questions and discussion followed. Chairman Bellino and Chairman Lauwers presented Michigan Public Service Commissioner, Norm Saari, with a Special Tribute recognizing his years of service upon his retirement. Representative Alexander moved to excuse Representatives Wendzel, Frederick, Lower, Markkanen and O'Malley from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7708 FAX: (517) 373-1450 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES August 7, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology and House Committee on Energy was scheduled for Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., in the 519 Room of the Anderson House Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by Chair Talberg of the Michigan Public Service Commission regarding the 2019 Draft Statewide Energy Assessment. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Outman, and McCann; a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to adopt the meeting minutes from June 18, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Chair Talberg, of the Michigan Public Service Commission, to deliver a presentation regarding the 2019 Draft Statewide Energy Assessment. The Chairman made a motion to excuse absent members form the meeting. Without objection, Sens. Bumstead, Brinks, and McMorrow were excused from the meeting. The Chairman presented a tribute to Norm Saari, of the Michigan Public Service Commission, on the occasion of his retirement. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the committee. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 9:55 a.m..
