BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 26, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A hearing to consider the appointment of the Honorable John D. Cherry to the Saginaw Valley State University Board of Control. 2. A hearing to consider the appointment of Mrs. Rajkumari "Raj" M. Wiener to the Saginaw Valley State University Board of Control. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Lucido, Sen.(s) LaSata, Nesbitt, and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion from Sen. Nesbitt to excuse absent members form the meeting. Without objection, Sen. McBroom was excused from the meeting. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from the September 12, 2019 meeting. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited the Honorable Mr. John D. Cherry, Jr., and Mrs. Rajkumari "Raj" M. Wiener. to provide the committee with their opening statements. The Chairman invited committee members to ask questions of Mr. Cherry and Mrs. Wiener regarding their appointments to the Saginaw Valley State University Board of Control. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the meeting.
