A hearing to consider the appointment of Corby L. Werth to the Michigan Dary Market Program Committee. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, McBroom and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from February 26, 2020 and June 11, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 777 (Sen. LaSata) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 419 (S-2) (Sen. Lucido) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki and Brinks, a quorum was present. At 8:32 a.m., the Chair recessed the committee. At 8:34 a.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the meeting minutes from June 18, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 777: Andrew Vermeesch, Michigan Farm Bureau - support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to report SB 777 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to recommend immediate effect for SB 777. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. Page 1 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the (S-2) version of SB 419. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki, and Brinks. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. Gast Appropriations Room, 3rd Floor, Capitol Building Present: Senators Shirkey (C), Lauwers, Nesbitt, Ananich and Chang The Committee on Appropriations reported House Bill No. 5265, entitled A bill to make, supplement, and adjust appropriations for various state departments and agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2020; and to provide for the expenditure of the appropriations. With the recommendation that the substitute (S-3) be adopted and that the bill then pass. The committee further recommends that the bill be given immediate effect.
