The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 5298 (Rep. Whiteford). 2. Reported SB 22 (Sen. Zorn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 4098 (S-1) (Rep. Frederick) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:04 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wojno to adopt the meeting minutes from October 7, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. Whiteford to summarize HB 5298. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 5298: Michigan Association of Health Plans – Support Gabe Basso, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to report SB 22 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 22. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. Sen. Theis offered an (S-1) version to HB 4098. Page 1 of 2 The Chair invited Sen. Theis to summarize the (S-1) version of HB 4098.
