- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON REGULATORY REFORM REP. ROGER HAUCK CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 9, 2021 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Hauck. The Clerk read in a letter from House Speaker Wentworth appointing members to the House Regulatory Reform Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Jones, Yancey, Garza, Witwer, Steenland. Absent: None. Excused: None. Rep. Hall moved to adopt Tuesday at 10:30 AM in Room 519 of the House Office Building as the normal day, time and location for meetings of the House Regulatory Reform Committee The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Jones, Yancey, Witwer, Steenland. Nays: None. Pass: None. The House Regulatory Reform Committee will follow Chapter IV, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. The Chair laid HB 4015 before the committee: HB 4015 (Rep. Lightner) A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled "Michigan consumer protection act," by amending section 3 (MCL 445.903), as amended by 2020 PA 296, and by adding section 3m. Representative Bellino moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4015. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hauck, Hoitenga, Bellino, Hall, Mueller, Wendzel, Clements, Damoose, Outman, Hertel, Jones, Yancey, Witwer, Steenland. Nays: None. Pass: None. Rep. Lightner testified in support of HB 4015. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 4015 (H-1), but did not wish to speak: David Knezek, representing the Michigan Attorney General. The following person submitted a card in opposition of HB 4015 (H-1), but did not wish to speak: Tyler Diers, representing TechNet. The Chair laid before the Committee a presentation by Spencer Nevens fom the Michigan Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association. Questions and discussion followed.
