HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES AND TOURISM REP. DAVID MARTIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism was called to order by Chair Martin. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, Wortz, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Arbit, Foreman, Myers-Phillips and Wooden. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Wortz moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 07, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4401 before the committee: Representative Greene and Jack Ammerman, representing the Michigan Pheasant Hunting Initiative, testified in support of HB 4401. Questions and discussions followed. Justin Tomei, representing the Michigan United Conservation Clubs, testified in support of HB 4401. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4401, but did not wish to speak: Chris Semrinec, representing the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Bob Matthews, representing the Congressional Sportsmen Foundation. Keith Shafer, representing the Michigan Bear Hunters Associations. Jaime Greene) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 43525c (MCL 324.43525c), as amended by 2021 PA 6.
