HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION REP. JACK O'MALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 11, 2021 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Transportation was called to order by Chair O'Malley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Howell, Griffin, LaFave, Berman, Carra, Roth, Sneller, Clemente, Shannon, Liberati, Puri. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Clemente and Shannon joined the committee remotely. Representative Puri moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 4, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the presentation on the Impact to Michigan's Infrastructure without Line 5 before the committee. Jason Geer, representing the Michigan Oil and Gas Association, provided a presentation on the Importance of Line 5. Questions and discussion followed. Scott Hayes, representing the Toledo Refining Company, , provided a presentation on the Importance of Line 5 to the Toledo Refining Company. Questions and discussion followed. Professor of Economics Chris Douglas, representing the University of Michigan- Flint, provided a presentation on the Economic Impact to Michigan of Closing Line 5. Questions and discussion followed.
