HANK VAUPEL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, March 14, 2019 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chairman Vaupel. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Vaupel, Frederick, Alexander, Calley, Hornberger, Lower, Whiteford, Afendoulis, Filler, Mueller, Wozniak, Liberati, Clemente, Ellison, Koleszar, Pohutsky, Stone, Witwer. Absent/Excused: Rep. Garrett. Representative Frederick moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 7, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Liberati moved to excuse Representative Garrett from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4224 and HB 4225 before the committee: HB 4224 (Rep. Hoitenga) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code, “by amending section 7104 (MCL 333.7104), as amended by 2001 PA 233. HB 4225 (Rep. Kahle) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” by amending section 7303a (MCL 333.7303a), as amended by 2018 PA 101. Representative Kahle spoke on the proposed substitutes for House Bill Nos. 4224 and 4225. The following individuals submitted a card in support of House Bill Nos. 4224 and 4225, but did not wish to speak: Barry Cargill, representing the Michigan Homecare and Hospice Association. Thad Gormas, representing the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants. The Chair laid HB 4051 before the committee: HB 4051 (Rep. Representative Liberati offered the following amendment to HB 4051: 1. Amend page 2, line 27, after “691.1407” by inserting “IF THE INDIVIDUAL COMPLIES WITH THIS ACT AND ALL APPLICABLE LAWS”. Representative Liberati discussed the proposed amendment before the committee. Representative Liberati moved to adopt the amendment to HB 4051. The motion did not prevail 7-11-0: UNFAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Liberati, Clemente, Ellison, Koleszar, Pohutsky, Stone, Witwer. Nays: Reps.
