GRAHAM FILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, March 19, 2019 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chairman Filler. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Filler, LaFave, Farrington, Howell, Steven Johnson, Rendon, Berman, Wozniak, LaGrand, Guerra, Elder, Yancey, Bolden. Absent/Excused: None. Representative LaGrand moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 12, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 0023 and SB 0024 before the committee: SB 0023 (Sen. Runestad) A bill to prohibit the theft of mail; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; and to prescribe penalties and provide remedies. SB 0024 (Sen. Lucido) A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled “The code of criminal procedure,” by amending section 14 of chapter XVII (MCL 777.14h), as amended by 2018 PA 188.
