MATT HALL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 25, 2019 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Oversight was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hall, Webber, S Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, C Johnson, Camilleri, LaGrand. Absent/Excused: Rep. Reilly. Representative Webber moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 18, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4444 and HB 4445 before the committee: HB 4444 (Rep. Johnson) A bill to amend 1976 PA 442, entitled “Freedom of information act,” by amending section 11 (MCL 15.241), as amended by 2014 PA 563. HB 4445 (Rep. Iden) A bill to amend 1976 PA 442, entitled “Freedom of information act, “by amending section 4 (MCL 15.234), as amended by 2018 PA 523. Representative S. Johnson testified in support of HB 4444 and HB 4445. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4468 before the committee: HB 4468 (Rep. Johnson) A bill to amend 1976 PA 442, entitled “Freedom of information act,” by amending section 5 (MCL 15.235), as amended by 2018 PA 105. Representative S. Johnson and Tom Lambert, representing himself, testified in support of HB 4468. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4148 before the committee: HB 4148 (Rep. Cherry) A bill to amend 1976 PA 267, entitled “Open meetings act,"(MCL 15.261 to 15.275) by adding section 9a. Representative Cherry testified in support of HB 4148. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Webber moved to excuse Representative Reilly from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
