MATT HALL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, May 23, 2019 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Oversight was called to order by the Chair Hall. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hall, Reilly, Webber, S Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, C Johnson, Camilleri, LaGrand. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Reilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 16, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee the following: Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report Oversight and Encounter Claim Integrity of the Comprehensive Health Care Program, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, May 2019 #391-0702-17 Mary Jo Koschay and Lori Leaming, representing the Office of the Auditor General, testified. The Chair laid HB 4336 and HB 4574 before the committee: HB 4336 (Rep. Johnson) A bill to amend 2003 PA 1, entitled “An act to provide for the audit and examination of this state and state funds; to provide for the audit and examination of the books and accounts of all branches, departments, offices, boards, commissions, agencies, authorities, and institutions of this state; to prescribe powers and duties of certain state officers and employees; to provide for access to certain records; to provide for the subpoena of witnesses and production of documents and records; to prescribe penalties; and to provide for the administration of this act,"by amending the title and section 1 (MCL 13.101). HB 4574 (Rep. LaGrand) A bill to amend 1846 RS 1, entitled "Of the statutes," (MCL 8.1 to 8.9) by adding section 6a. Representative Reilly moved to refer House Bill No. 4336 to the committee on Ways and Means. The motion prevailed 8-1-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hall, Reilly, Webber, S Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, Camilleri, LaGrand. Nays: Rep. C Johnson. Pass: None. Representative S Johnson moved to refer House Bill No. 4574 to the committee on Ways and Means. The motion prevailed 9-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hall, Reilly, Webber, S Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, C Johnson, Camilleri, LaGrand. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair returned to the audit. Mary Jo Koschay and Lori Leaming, representing the Office of the Auditor General, returned to speak regarding the audit. Questions and discussion followed.
