SHANE HERNANDEZ CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 5, 2020 9:00 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Appropriations was called to order by Chair Hernandez. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hernandez, Miller, Sheppard, Albert, Allor, Brann, Whiteford, Yaroch, Bollin, Glenn, Green, Huizenga, Lightner, Maddock, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Hoadley, Love, Hammoud, Peterson, Sabo, Anthony, Brixie, Cherry, Hood, Kennedy, Tate. Absent/Excused: Reps. VanSingel, Pagan. Representative Glenn moved to adopt the meeting minutes from January 22, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 693 before the committee: SB 693 (Sen. Lauwers) A bill to amend 2018 PA 111, entitled "Agricultural disaster loan origination program act," by amending sections 2, 3, 4, and 5 (MCL 286.432, 286.433, 286.434, and 286.435). Josh Skrzypczak, representing the Office of Senator Lauwers, testified in support of SB 693. Questions and discussion followed. Paul Anderson, representing Greenstone Farm Credit Union, testified in support of SB 693. Questions and discussion followed. David Worthams, representing the Michigan Bankers Association, testified in support of SB 693. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of SB 693, but did not wish to speak: Justin Clement, representing the Michigan Soybean Association. Rebecca Park, representing the Michigan Farm Bureau. Representative VanWoerkom moved to report out SB 693 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 26-0-1: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hernandez, Miller, Sheppard, Albert, Allor, Brann, Whiteford, Yaroch, Bollin, Glenn, Green, Huizenga, Maddock, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Hoadley, Love, Hammoud, Peterson, Sabo, Anthony, Brixie, Cherry, Hood, Kennedy, Tate. Nays: None. Pass: Rep. Lightner. The Chair invited Representative Huizenga, Representative Whiteford, Representative Glenn, Representative Hammoud, and Representative Sabo to give a presentation on the House Appropriations Committee IT Task Force Report. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Hoadley moved to excuse Representatives VanSingel and Pagan from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Shane Hernandez adjourned the meeting at 10:08 AM.
