BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 7, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 12:00 noon, in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A hearing to consider the appointment of Major General Paul Rogers as the Adjutant General and the Director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Lucido, Sen.(s) LaSata, and Nesbitt, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from the March 6, 2019 meeting. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. At 12:03 p.m., Sen. Hertel entered the meeting. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. McBroom was excused from the meeting. The Chairman invited Major General Rogers to provide the committee with his opening statements. The Chairman invited committee members to ask questions regarding the appointment of Major General Rogers as the Adjutant General and the Director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. At 12:37 p.m., Sen. Nesbitt left the meeting and did not return. At. 12:56 p.m., Sen. Hertel left the meeting and did not return. The Chairman read the card of an individual not wishing to testify before the committee regarding the Appointment of Major General Paul Rogers as the Adjutant General and the Director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs: Sen. Tom Barrett – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the meeting.
