- COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 23, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Small Business Development was scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 12:00 noon, in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 306 (Sen. MacGregor). The Chairman called the meeting to order at 12:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, MacGregor, Theis, Lauwers, Schmidt, McMorrow, Geiss, and Moss; a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the meeting minutes from May 9, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen. MacGregor to summarize SB 306. The Chairman invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 306: Andy Guy, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. – Support John Walsh and Gina Cavaliere, Downtown Detroit Partnership – Support The Chairman read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 306: Dave Greco, MEDC – Support Judy Allen, Michigan Townships Association – Support Amy Drumm, Michigan Retailers Association – Support Patrick Harrington, Invest Detroit – Support Karyn Ferrick, City of Grand Rapids – Support Patrick Harrington, Detroit Riverfront Conservancy – Support Jen Rigterink, MML – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the committee.
