BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1758 FAX: (517) 373-0938 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 19, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance was scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 370 (Sen. Hertel). 2. Testimony regarding SB 371 (Sen. Hertel). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4189 (Rep. Sheppard). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4190 (Rep. Webber). 5. Testimony regarding HB 4191 (Rep. Coleman). The Chairman called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Runestad, Sen.(s) Nesbitt, Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chairman made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Chang was excused from the meeting. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Nesbitt to adopt the meeting minutes from May 22, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen. Hertel to summarize SB’s 370-371. The Chairman invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB’s 370-371: David, Gail and Ruby Jane Schupbach, Citizens – Support Amanda Rostic, Pediatric Congenital Association – Support Jennifer Dougherty, Pediatric Congenital Heart Association – Support Michael Gaines, MD, Pediatric Congenital Heart Association – Support Brad O’Furey, Citizen – Support The following cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding SB’s 370- 371: Steve Bieda, Michigan Department of Treasury – Neutral Dave Hodgkins, American Heart Association – Support Ben and Emily Bodkin, Citizens – Support Gwen Fosse, Pediatric Congenital Heart Association, Michigan Congenital Heart – Support The Chairman invited Rep.(s) Webber and Coleman to summarize HB’s 4189-4191.
