BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 12, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors and Veterans was scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at 12:00 noon, in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SR 89 (Sen. MacDonald) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:07 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Alexander to adopt the meeting minutes from October 30, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SR 89: Senator Michael MacDonald, Michigan Senate – Support Captain Amie Kemppainen, National Guard Assoc. of Michigan – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SR 89: Ann McDaniel, National Guard Association of Michigan – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett to report SR 89 to the floor with recommendation that it be adopted. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock, Alexander. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the resolution was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
