BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 20, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at 12:30 p.m., in the Senate Hearing Room of the Boji Tower. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 881 (S-1) (Sen. MacGregor). 2. Testimony regarding SB 885 (S-1) (Sen. MacGregor). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from May 13, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair offered an (S-1) version to SB 881. The Chair offered an (S-1) version to SB 885. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 881. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 885. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno Nays: None Page 1 of 2 The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair invited Sen. MacGregor to summarize SB 881 and SB 885. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 881: Angela Madden, Michigan Association of Ambulance Services – No Position The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. MacDonald was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
