BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 3, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Reported SR 9 (S-1) (Sen. Bumstead) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Bumstead to summarize SR 9. The Chair offered an (S-1) version to SR 9. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the (S-1) version of SR 9. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, and VanderWall Nays: None Pass: Sen. Wojno The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to report the (S-1) version of SR 9 to the floor with recommendation that it be adopted. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, and VanderWall Nays: None Pass: Sen.
