BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 11, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in Room 403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4022 (Rep. Berman) with recommendation. 2. Testimony regarding Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Prisoner Security Classification and Recommended Programming, Michigan Department of Corrections, November 2019, #471-0350-18. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:12 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon and Irwin, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from April 20, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4022 and invited Rep. Berman to summarize the bill. Member questions followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4022: Bree Anderson, Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget - Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to report HB 4022 to the floor with recommendation that the bill pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis and Bizon Nays: Sen. Irwin The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair brought up the Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Prisoner Security Classification and Recommended Programming, Michigan Department of Corrections, November 2019, #471- 0350-18. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony via Zoom regarding the Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Prisoner Security Classification and Recommended Programming, Michigan Department of Corrections, November 2019, #471-0350-18: Mary Jo Koschay, OAG Audit Division Administrator. Member questions and discussion followed. Michael Ventura, OAG Audit Manager. Member questions and discussion followed. Nathan Klein, OAG Audit Supervisor. Member questions and discussion followed. Kyle Kaminski, Michigan Department of Corrections. Member questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen.
