BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7708 FAX: (517) 373-1450 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 16, 2021 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology and Senate Committee on Natural Resources was scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: Presentation on Line 5 from Canadian presenters The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Bumstead, Bizon, Schmidt, McCann, Brinks and Bullock, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from March 9, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following guests to deliver a presentation on Line 5: Bob Bailey, Member of Provincial Parliament, Sarnia-Lambton Joseph Mancinelli, International Vice President and Regional Manager of Central and Eastern Canada, Laborers' International Union of North America Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Donna Perla, Mullett Lake Area Preservation Society, MLAPS – Opposition Lisa Patrell – Opposition Matthew Borke – Opposition The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Schmidt to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Barrett and McMorrow were excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
