BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 30, 2021 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight and House Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 4:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Establishing Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Eligibility Criteria, Unemployment Insurance Agency, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, November 2021, #186-0319-21A Chair McBroom called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon, Wozniak, Irwin and Chang, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from November 9, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. Chair S. Johnson requested the House Clerk read in for the record Sen. Wozniak's letter of resignation from the House Committee on Oversight. Chair S. Johnson requested the House Clerk read in for the record a letter adding Rep. Yaroch to the House Committee on Oversight. Chair McBroom invited the House Oversight Committee to call roll. A quorum was present. Chair S. Johnson moved to adopt the House Committee on Oversight previous meeting minutes. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. Chair McBroom invited the committees to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the new 2021-2022 Committee Rules adding two members to the committee. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon, Wozniak, Irwin and Chang Nays: None The motion prevailed and the new 2021-2022 Committee Rules were adopted. Page 1 of 2 Chair McBroom summarized the days agenda, gave opening comments and welcomed Sen.(s) Wozniak and Chang as new members to the committee. Chair McBroom invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Establishing Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, Unemployment Insurance Agency, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, November 2020, #186-0319-21A: Bryan Weiler, Office of the Auditor General Chief Investigator Chad Monger, Office of the Auditor General6887 Audit Supervisor Julia Dale, Director, Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency Todd Cook, Director Of Legislative Affairs, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity Member questions and discussion followed each presenter. Additional information was requested by the committee and will be provided to the Chair's by the presenters. There being no further business before the committee, Chair S. Johnson moved to adjourn the House Committee on Oversight at 6:44 p.m. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen.
