- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON HEALTH POLICY REP. JULIE M. ROGERS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Rogers. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Joe Tate which appointed members of the House Health Policy Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Rogers, Whitsett, Brenda Carter, Haadsma, Neeley, Glanville, Coffia, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Miller, Rheingans, VanderWall, Filler, Mueller, VanWoerkom, Roth, Schmaltz, Thompson. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Whitsett and Mueller joined the committee remotely. Chair Rogers introduced herself and welcomed the committee members. The Chair explained committee expectations and priorities for the term. Chair Rogers announced that the House Health Policy Committee will follow the Uniform Committee rules, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. Representative B. Carter moved to adopt Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Room 519 of the House Office Building as the day, time, and location for regularly scheduled meetings of the House Health Policy Committee. The motion prevailed 17-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Rogers, Brenda Carter, Haadsma, Neeley, Glanville, Coffia, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Miller, Rheingans, VanderWall, Filler, VanWoerkom, Roth, Schmaltz, Thompson. Nays: None. Pass: None. Chair Rogers laid before the committee a presentation by the Michigan Association for Local Public Health. Norm Hess, Executive Director, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Chair Rogers laid before the committee a presentation by the Michigan Primary Care Association. Anne Scott, Health Centers Operations Officer and Kris Drake, Executive Director of Ingham Community Health Centers, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Chair Rogers laid before the committee a presentation by the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. Laura Appel, Executive Vice President for Advocacy, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Rogers adjourned the meeting at 11:37 AM. Representative Julie M.
