KELLY A BREEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 15, 2023 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chair Breen. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Breen, Edwards, Tyrone Carter, Hope, Arbit, Dievendorf, Hoskins, Tsernoglou, Fink, Wozniak, Outman, Johnsen. Absent: Rep. Wendzel. Excused: Rep. Wendzel. Representative Edwards moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 8, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Fink moved to excuse Representative Wendzel from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4045 and HB 4069 before the committee: HB 4045 (Rep. Schmaltz) A bill to create the volunteer employee criminal history system program; to impose a fee for conducting a national and state criminal history record information; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities. HB 4069 (Rep. Representative Hope and Representative Schmaltz testified together in support of HB 4045 and HB 4069. Questions and discussion followed. Sergeant Travis Fletcher and Sherry Rosin, both representing the Michigan State Police, testified in support of HB 4045 and HB 4069. Questions and discussion followed.
