    Over the last couple of terms we’ve had a number of opportunities to deal with bills such as this one which seek to change the Open Meetings Act requirements for a certain board or commission. I have introduced legislation that would overhaul the Open Meetings Act and modernize it in such a way so we would stop doing these one-off piecemeal attempts at fixing the situation until we have to wrestle with a whole problem rather than just taking these little bites because everybody’s going to want something and we’re not doing it in a uniform way. That’s why I’m voting “no.” The following bill was read a third time: House Bill No. 4100, entitled A bill to amend 2001 PA 142, entitled “Michigan memorial highway act,” (MCL 250.1001 to 250.2092) by adding section 6d.
