    The House agreed to the title of the bill. Rep. BeGole moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor. Rep. Lightner, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: My no vote is due to not giving justice for multiple victims, nor adding consecutive sentencing.” Rep. BeGole moved that House Bill No. 5745 be placed on its immediate passage. The motion prevailed, a majority of the members serving voting therefor. House Bill No. 5745, entitled A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled “The code of criminal procedure,” by amending section 16m (MCL 777.16m), as amended by 2023 PA 200.
