House Bill No. 4182, entitled A bill to amend 1937 PA 94, entitled “Use tax act,” by amending sections 6c and 21 (MCL 205.96c and 205.111), section 6c as added by 2015 PA 263 and section 21 as amended by 2023 PA 175, and by adding sections 4gg and 4hh. The Senate has substituted (S-2) the bill. The Senate has passed the bill as substituted (S-2), ordered that it be given immediate effect and amended the title to read as follows: A bill to amend 1937 PA 94, entitled “An act to provide for the levy, assessment, and collection of a specific excise tax on the storage, use, or consumption in this state of tangible personal property and certain services; to appropriate the proceeds of that tax; to prescribe penalties; and to make appropriations,” by amending section 21 (MCL 205.111), as amended by 2023 PA 175, and by adding section 4gg. The Speaker announced that pursuant to Rule 41, the bill was laid over one day. Rep. Posthumus moved that Rule 41 be suspended. The motion prevailed, 3/5 of the members present voting therefor.
