    The House agreed to the title of the bill. Rep. Posthumus moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor. Rep. Paiz, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: Bills are poorly written; similar bills were submitted which were better written (without extraneous and confusing language added) but were not heard in committee and not reported to the House for a vote.” Rep. Posthumus moved that House Bill No. 6099 be placed on its immediate passage. The motion prevailed, a majority of the members serving voting therefor. House Bill No. 6099, entitled A bill to amend 2011 PA 15, entitled “Shopping reform and modernization act,” by amending sections 2 and 7 (MCL 445.312 and 445.317).
