Context text: In The Chair: Moss The Senate agreed to the title of the bill. Senator Polehanki asked and was granted unanimous consent to make a statement and moved that the statement be printed in the Journal. The motion prevailed. Senator Polehanki’s statement is as follows: Senate Bill No. 106 would create a specialty fundraising license plate in collaboration with the Secretary of State and the Michigan Pet Alliance. Revenue from the sale of this license plate would fund two critical purposes: Free or low-cost spay and neuter services for low income pet owners and unowned community cats, and training and education programs for employees and volunteers working in Michigan’s animal shelters and rescue organizations. Seven hundred letters of support from animal lovers across Michigan were recorded with the committee clerk, so this bill is not only popular, but it’s for a good cause. I hope we can all vote “yes” today on Senate Bill No. 106. The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 73, entitled A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled “Michigan liquor control code of 1998,” by amending section 513 (MCL 436.1513), as amended by 2024 PA 115.
