   If this law existed at the moment of our founding, America itself would not exist. That’s how anti-American this legislation is. I ask for a “no” vote. Senator McMorrow asked and was granted unanimous consent to make statements and moved that the statements be printed in the Journal. The motion prevailed. Senator McMorrow’s first statement is as follows: I would just like to correct a statement that was made from the previous speaker. The United States Supreme Court, even with its conservative majority, just ruled as recently as March of this year that such legislation to regulate so-called “ghost guns”—as you would any other firearm by requiring serial numbers—is in fact constitutional. Senator McMorrow’s second statement is as follows: I would also like to make an observation that at the founding of our country, AR-15s also did not exist. The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 332, entitled A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled “The code of criminal procedure,” by amending section 11b of chapter XVII (MCL 777.11b), as amended by 2023 PA 22.
