- transgender girls from playing school sports. But let’s be honest: there are zero transgender girls
participating in school sports in Michigan this year. This bill impacts no one and protects no one. It’s a
manufactured crisis designed to stoke fear and fuel a culture war that has no place in our schools or our
legislature. Michigan students are facing real challenges—like rising mental health needs, unsafe conditions,
and lack of access to basic resources. Instead of focusing on those urgent priorities, this bill diverts time and
energy toward marginalizing already vulnerable children. That’s not leadership. That’s scapegoating. Our
kids deserve inclusion, support, and safety—not performative legislation that excludes them.”
