- Removing reporting requirements is never a way to make government more transparent, yet that’s exactly
what HB 5509 does. This budget removes disclosure requirements for when high-ranking employees receive
loaded severance packages and ditches interagency cooperation obligations. Michigan ranks near the bottom
in government transparency. This budget makes things worse. I fully endorse efforts to support our military
personnel and veterans and an investment in Selfridge Air Base.”
