- following statement:
“Mr. Speaker and members of the House:
I voted ‘no’ on House Bills HB 4680-4686 because I strongly support robust, public financial disclosure
for public officials. The legislation presented today allows important financial information to remain behind
closed doors. These bills simply don’t go far enough, and the public has a right to know about this
information.”
House Bill No. 4686, entitled
A bill to amend 1973 PA 196, entitled “An act to prescribe standards of conduct for public officers and
employees; to create a state board of ethics and prescribe its powers and duties; and to prescribe remedies
and penalties,” by amending sections 5 and 6 (MCL 15.345 and 15.346).
