The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 722, entitled A bill to amend 1999 PA 244, entitled “An act to require tobacco product manufacturers to place funds in escrow for medical expenses incurred by the state due to tobacco related illnesses; to establish a formula for determining the amount of the escrow; to establish the conditions for release of funds from escrow; to prescribe powers and duties of the attorney general; and to provide for civil penalties for violation of this act,” by amending sections 1 and 2 (MCL 445.2051 and 445.2052), as amended by 2016 PA 42.     Breen Hood Pohutsky Stone Brixie Hope Puri Weiss Cavanagh Koleszar Rogers Young In The Chair: Hornberger Pursuant to Joint Rule 20, the full title of the act shall be inserted to read as follows: “An act to provide for the creation of the health and safety fund; to provide for the deposit of certain money in that fund; to provide for the distribution of the money in that fund and to limit its use; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state officials; and to provide for an appropriation,” The House agreed to the full title. Rep. Frederick moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor.
