- Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 18, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Chair Johnson made remarks to the committee. The Chair laid HB 4566 and HB 4588 before the committee: HB 4566 (Rep. LaFave) A bill to prohibit this state from entering into certain confidentiality or nondisclosure agreements. HB 4588 (Rep. Glenn) A bill to regulate certain terms in certain state employment contracts; and to provide for civil fines. Representative LaFave and Representative Glenn, testified in support of HB 4566 and HB 4588. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid the following before the committee: Testimony regarding Michigan Department of Health and Human Services restrictions on weddings and funerals. Kim Smith, the owner of The Catering Company and Above and Beyond Catering, testified before the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Carmen and Ernest Tisdale, the owner of the Hidden Gem Venue, testified before the committee. Questions and discussion followed.
