The Chair laid HB 4434 before the committee: HB 4434 (Rep. Stone) A bill to amend 1936 (Ex Sess) PA 1, entitled "Michigan employment security act," by amending sections 2 and 32b (MCL 421.2 and 421.32b), section 2 as amended by 2011 PA 268 and section 32b as amended by 2011 PA 269, and by adding section 32e. Representative Lori Stone, the bill sponsor, explained the (H-1) substitute for HB 4434. Stephanie Glidden, Chief of Staff and Legislative Liaison for Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency submitted a card and written testimony in opposition to HB 4434 as substituted but did not wish to speak. The following individuals submitted a card in support of HB 4434 as substituted, but did not wish to speak: Sean Sorenson-Abbott, representing Michigan Health and Hospital Association; Craig Bryson and Leslie Shepard; and Peter Ruark, representing the Michigan League for Public Policy.
