- Representative Steven Johnson moved to adopt the minutes from the November 9th, 2021 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4163 before the committee: HB 4163 (Rep. Berman) A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled "Michigan campaign finance act," by amending section 47 (MCL 169.247), as amended by 2015 PA 269. Representative Berman, testified in support of HB 4163. Questions and discussion followed. Simon Schuster, representing the Michigan Campaign Finance Network, testified in opposition to HB 4163. At 12:10 PM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 12:12 PM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 4996 before the committee: HB 4996 (Rep. Schroeder) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," by amending sections 178 and 634 (MCL 168.178 and 168.634), section 178 as amended by 1980 PA 261 and section 634 as amended by 1996 PA 583. Chair Bollin, testified in support of HB 4996. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Bollin adjourned the meeting at 12:14 PM.
