- Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 1, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4549 and HB 4550 before the committee: HB 4549 (Rep. Crawford) A bill to amend 1973 PA 116, entitled “An act to provide for the protection of children through the licensing and regulation of child care organizations; to provide for the establishment of standards of care for child care organizations; to prescribe powers and duties of certain departments of this state and adoption facilitators; to provide penalties; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,” by amending section 10 (MCL 722.120), as amended by 2017 PA 257. HB 4550 (Rep. Carter) A bill to amend 2008 PA 260, entitled “Guardianship assistance act,” by amending section 4 (MCL 722.874), as amended by 2015 PA 227. Chairwoman Crawford testified in support of her legislation. Representative Brenda Carter testified in support of her legislation. Mary Chaliman, representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, testified in support of HB 4549 and HB 4550. Questions and discussion followed.
