Constitution of the United States in December 1865; and Whereas, Over the course of its history, the United States has grown into a symbol of democracy and freedom around the world; now, therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare June 19, 2019, as Juneteenth Independence Day in the state of Michigan. The question being on the adoption of the resolution, The resolution was adopted. Third Reading of Bills House Bill No. 4509, entitled A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled “Revised judicature act of 1961,” (MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 5707.
