- Not Voting—0 In The Chair: President Senator Lauwers moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor. Pursuant to Joint Rule 20, the full title of the act shall be inserted to read as follows: “An act to provide for the qualification, appointment, and regulation of notaries; to provide for the levy, assessment, and collection of certain service charges and fees and to provide for their disposition; to create funds; to provide for liability for certain persons; to provide for the admissibility of evidence; to establish the recognition to be given in this state to acknowledgments and other notarial acts performed outside of this state; to prescribe powers and duties of state agencies and local officers; to provide for remedies and penalties; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,”. The Senate agreed to the full title. The following bill was read a third time: House Bill No. 6137, entitled A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 5145a.
