- Senator Nesbitt offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 2, following line 23, by inserting: “Whereas, on December 2nd, 2024, and January 20th, 2025 former President Biden’s pardoning of his family served as an example of the blatant corruption and abuse of power of the previous administration. This decision to issue last minute pardons for family members is disgraceful misuse of power and undermines the notion of justice, transparency, and accountability in our nation; and”. The question being on the adoption of the amendment, Point of Order Senator Singh raised the Point of Order that, pursuant to Mason’s , § 402-1, the amendment offered by Senator Nesbitt is not germane to the resolution. The President pro tempore, Senator Moss, ruled that the amendment is not germane. Senator Lauwers appealed the decision of the Chair. The question being shall the decision of the Chair stand as the judgment of the Senate, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays.
